A 25-year-old man has been charged after a violent stabbing in Radford, Nottingham, left a young man hospitalised and sparked major police action over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Emergency services rushed to Norton Street just after 8.30pm on Saturday, 3 May, following reports of a fight. A man in his 20s was found with a serious stab wound and a stolen mobile phone, according to Nottinghamshire Police.

Fortunately, the victim’s injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening, and he continues to recover after receiving hospital treatment.

He appeared at Nottingham MagistratesCourt on 5 May and has been remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for 2 June 2025 at Nottingham Crown Court.

The quick arrest followed an intense investigation aided by the city’s extensive CCTV network, with police sealing off Norton Street to conduct a full forensic sweep.

Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik praised the swift police work, saying:
