68-Year-Old Hospitalised After Hornchurch Crash

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a 68-year-old man has been taken to hospital following a collision between a motorbike and a car on england/upminster/”>Upminster Road.

The incident occurred around 9.20am on September 20. His injuries have been described as “life-changing, but not life-threatening.”

Traffic Disruptions

Road Closure and Bus Detours

Upminster Road is currently blocked following a serious accident, leading to significant disruptions in local transport. Detours have been put in place for bus routes 248 and 370.

Transport for %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% (%%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%%) has reported that buses are skipping stops from Upminster Station / %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% Road (C) to %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%%‘s Church towards %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%%, and from St Andrew’s Church back to Upminster Station (A) towards %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%% or %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_6%%.

Police Statement

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Around 9.23am on Saturday, September 20, police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike in Upminster Road, Hornchurch. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated the 68-year-old man at the scene before transporting him to hospital. His injuries are believed to be life-changing, but not life-threatening. The driver of the car involved stopped at the scene. A scene remains in place on Upminster Road, and buses have been diverted.”
