Devon & Cornwall Police have confirmed that Danny Cahalane, the 38-year-old victim of a brutal acid attack in Plymouth, has sadly died in hospital.
Danny, a father and personal trainer, was attacked with sulphuric acid inside his home on Lipson Road on 21 February 2025, while caring for his young daughter.
He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, 3 May.
Family Statement
In a moving tribute, Danny’s family said:
As a family, we are struggling to come to terms with Danny’s passing. Danny was an outstanding father and son… We cherish his love and memories and ask for privacy during this time.
Paris Wilson Among Those Charged
Danny’s former girlfriend, Paris Wilson, 34, from The Quay, Plymouth, appeared in court last week charged with:
Wilson, a former probation officer who previously volunteered at Dartmoor Prison, was seen crying in the dock at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court during the hearing.
She has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear again at Plymouth Crown Court on 12 May.
Nine People Now Charged
In total, nine individuals have been charged in connection with the acid attack.
The complex investigation remains ongoing, with police continuing to piece together the events leading up to the assault.
