Thames Valley Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a serious assault that left a delivery driver with a broken hip in Oxford city centre.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30pm on Monday, 17 March 2025, on Cornmarket Street. According to police, a man approached the delivery worker and pulled him off his bicycle by his fast food delivery bag, causing him to fall heavily to the ground.

The victim sustained a serious hip injury, described as a break, which has left him unable to work. The injury has had a significant financial impact on the victim and his family, police said.

Investigating officer PC Edward Lee, based at Oxford Police Station, described the incident as a “GBH-level assault.”

“This was a GBH-level assault where a man has sustained a serious and debilitating injury to his hip which has meant he is unable to work and his family impacted financially,” said PC Lee.

“We are now releasing an image of a man who we believe may have vital information that could help with this investigation. If this person is you, or you know who he is, please contact Thames Valley Police.”
