A spokesperson for %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% stated, 'Officers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%%, Tameside, at 6:45am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.'
A Legendary Career
Hatton, known as ‘The Hitman’, was one of the most celebrated boxers in British %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%%, winning world titles at light-welterweight and welterweight. He ended his professional career in 2012 with a record of 45 wins from 48 %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%%bouts.
In his final Instagram video, Hatton shared footage of his training for a comeback fight scheduled for December against Eisa Al Dah in %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_6%%. He expressed his satisfaction after completing another 5k on the treadmill.
Tributes Pour In
Following his passing, tributes have flooded in from across the sporting world. Fellow British boxing icon Amir Khan remarked, 'Today we %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_7%% not only one of Britain's greatest boxers, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior, Ricky Hatton.'
Khan emphasised the importance of discussing mental health, stating, 'Mental health isn't weakness. It's part of being human. And we must talk about it.'
