Wood Lane in Dagenham remains closed in both directions following a serious single-vehicle collision that occurred late Friday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 10:25 PM on Friday 21st February 2025 after reports of a road traffic collision (RTC) near the junction with Marston Avenue. Firefighters from the London Fire Brigade attended and carried out a roof removal to safely extricate the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle.

The London Ambulance Service treated the driver at the scene before transporting them to hospital. Fortunately, the driver’s injuries are not believed to be life-changing.

A London Fire Brigade source at the scene confirmed, “Crews worked swiftly to safely extricate the driver using specialist equipment. The scene has now been handed over to the police for further investigation.”

Local authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collision, and it remains unclear how long the road closure will be in effect.
