A Salisbury man has been charged with multiple serious offences, including rape, grievous bodily harm (GBH) and actual bodily harm (ABH), following his extradition from Spain, Wiltshire Police have confirmed.

Scott McKenzie, 35, previously of Gainsborough Close, was arrested in Barcelona in December 2024 in connection with two separate incidents — one in Salisbury and another overseas in Prague, Czech Republic.

The charges relate to an incident in December 2020, when a woman was discovered with severe injuries after falling from a second-storey window at a property in Catherine %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%%, Salisbury. The woman later told %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% she had also been raped.

A second allegation was made by a different woman, who reported being raped by a stranger while in Prague in May 2023.

Following an international %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_2%% and cooperation between law enforcement agencies, McKenzie was extradited back to the UK earlier this month. He has now been formally charged with two counts of rape, GBH and ABH.

He appeared before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court earlier today (19 %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_3%%) and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Salisbury Crown %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_4%% on 16 April.

A spokesperson for %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_5%% said:

“This case involves complex investigations across multiple jurisdictions, and we are grateful for the collaboration with international authorities in securing the suspect's return to the UK.

We continue to support the victims involved and are committed to ensuring justice is served.”

Anyone with further information related to the case is encouraged to contact %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_6%% on 101, or provide details anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
