The search for Peter Henderson, a 65-year-old man missing from Sittingbourne for more than two weeks, is ongoing. He was last seen in the Pear Tree Walk area of Newington at 12:17 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Description and Last Known Appearance
Peter Henderson is described as white, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, with light grey combed-over hair, a short grey beard, and glasses. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a green raincoat, brown trousers, shoes, and a grey backpack. He is also believed to have been carrying an orienteering map.
Police Efforts and Appeal
Since Peter’s disappearance, officers have conducted extensive searches, reviewed CCTV footage, and carried out house-to-house inquiries. Despite these efforts, Peter remains missing.
Swale Chief Inspector Vanessa Foster stated, “Peter has been missing for more than two weeks now, and we remain committed to ensuring he is safely found and reunited with his family. We know from CCTV that when he was last seen in Pear Tree Walk, he walked northwest towards Orchard Drive.”
Chief Inspector Foster also urged local residents to help with the search: “I’d like to encourage people with garages and outbuildings to keep an eye out for Peter and for anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage that they believe is useful to get in touch with us so it can be reviewed.”
