Kurtis Knee, a 23-year-old man from Swindon, has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to drug offences. Knee was sentenced on October 14 at Swindon Crown Court for possession with intent to supply cannabis and possessing criminal property.
The charges stem from a police raid on July 31, during which officers executed a warrant at Knee’s home on Keswick Road, Park South. The search uncovered nearly 10kg of cannabis, alongside a large quantity of cash and high-value clothing and trainers, totalling £5,689. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around £100,000 if sold in smaller quantities.
PC Thompson commented on the dangers of drug dealing: “Cannabis is often seen as a low-level drug, but its supply comes with significant risks. Young people are often drawn into dealing, where they are exposed to threats from rival groups and the possibility of violence.
Inspector David Tippetts praised the seizure, saying, “This is a significant result from a person who has continued to supply drugs despite previous convictions. We remain committed to working with the community to disrupt the supply of controlled substances in Swindon.
The case also highlighted the dangers of organised criminal groups (OCGs) involved in drug trafficking, who often exploit vulnerable individuals to move drugs from cities into smaller towns and rural areas. More information about “county lines” operations and signs to look out for can be found on Wiltshire Police’s website.
Wiltshire Police are urging the public to report any suspicious activity linked to drug dealing in their local area.
