An 18-year-old man has been charged following a stabbing in Eastbourne town centre on Saturday morning, 3 May.
Police were called to Terminus Road shortly after 7.30am after reports that a man had been injured with a knife. A 30-year-old man from Eastbourne was rushed to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
Two men initially arrested at the scene have since been released with no further action taken.
Following further investigation, Logan Horrocks, 18, of Station Road, Newhaven, was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on Wednesday, 7 May.
Chief Inspector Mark Evans, Eastbourne District Commander, said:
“We recognise this incident will have caused concern within the local community. I would like to reassure residents that the matter was dealt with swiftly. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
Extra police patrols have been deployed in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
