Two people were treated following a crash this morning involving a car and a Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) fire engine on Ashford Road (A20) near Link Hill in Bearsted, close to Maidstone.

The incident occurred at approximately 10.30am, prompting a swift %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% from emergency services. The %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_1%% engine, which was not believed to be responding to an emergency at the time, sustained damage to its front after being struck by a car.

Paramedics attended the scene and treated two individuals for injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening. It is currently unclear whether those treated were firefighters or occupants of the car.
