Detectives are looking to speak to people who were in the area of St Nicholas Circle, Leicester, on Sunday evening.
The appeal comes as part of an investigation into the report of a sexual assault of a woman in her 20s, which occurred in the area of Leicester Forest East.
As part of police enquiries, it has been established the woman was walking in St Nicholas Circle, close to Southgates, between 9.30pm and 10pm, on Sunday (17 December).
Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area who may have seen anything suspicious or anyone who was driving past and may have captured footage on their dash cam.
Officers are particularly keen for information relating to a silver Volkswagen Golf which was driving in the area before parking in Castle Street.
