A woman has been taken to a major trauma centre following a crash near Westferry DLR station in Poplar earlier today.
Emergency services rushed to Westferry Road, E14, shortly after 10am on Friday (April 11) after receiving reports of a road traffic collision. An ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car from the London Ambulance Service were sent to the scene.
The woman, whose age has not been confirmed, was treated on-site before being taken to hospital. Her condition is not currently known.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 10.04am today (11 April) to reports of a road traffic collision on Westferry Road, E14.
“We treated a woman at the scene and took her to a major trauma centre.”
Video footage shared with this publication shows a police cordon in place near Westferry DLR station, with officers restricting access to the area.
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further information regarding the circumstances of the crash. At this stage, it is not clear how many vehicles were involved or whether any arrests have been made.
Residents and commuters in the area experienced some disruption throughout the morning as emergency services responded to the incident.
