In a recent incident at Parc Prison, three inmates were taken to the hospital following an altercation. The private security company G4S, which operates the prison, confirmed that the injuries sustained by the prisoners are not life-threatening.
The incident occurred on Friday night and involved approximately 20 prisoners. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the altercation. An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene but was ultimately not needed.
G4S worked in collaboration with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service to safely resolve the situation. In a statement, the company emphasised that those involved would face severe consequences, including potential criminal prosecution.
Recent Deaths and Protests
Parc Prison has been under scrutiny due to a series of sudden deaths. Since February 27, 2024, ten inmates have lost their lives within its walls. Bereaved families have expressed their grief and frustration by staging protests outside the prison, demanding answers and accountability.
