A second man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Ladbroke Grove, West London, that left an eight-year-old girl seriously injured.

The attack occurred on Sunday evening, November 24, when a gunman opened fire into a car on Southern Row. Inside the vehicle were the young girl, her 34-year-old father, her two-year-old sibling, and her 32-year-old mother. While the toddler and mother were uninjured, the girl and her father were both struck by gunfire.

Injuries and Arrests

The girl underwent surgery on Monday and is now in a stable condition. Her father sustained potentially life-changing injuries and remains hospitalised.

The Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a 32-year-old man on Tuesday, November 26, in connection with the shooting. He remains in custody on suspicion of the attempted murder of two individuals, as well as possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

This follows the earlier arrest of a 22-year-old man on Monday, November 25, who has since been bailed until early February.

Police Investigation

The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation, with officers working to determine a motive for the attack. Increased police patrols are in place in the area to reassure residents and gather information.

Superintendent Owen Renowden described the incident as “an appalling attack,” calling for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen the incident or has information to contact the police by calling 101 or messaging @MetCC on social media, quoting CAD reference 5238/24Nov.
