Emergency services are responding to a serious incident on Rigstock Road, Thornton Heath, where a person has reportedly become trapped beneath a bus.
The alarm was raised shortly after 11:15am on Tuesday, 18 June, near the junction with London Road, one of the busiest thoroughfares in Croydon.
Major Emergency Response
Units from the London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, and Metropolitan Police were dispatched to the scene Firefighters with specialist equipment and ambulance crews are working urgently to assist the casualty.
There is no official confirmation yet on the condition of the individual involved, but sources indicate the person may be trapped underneath the vehicle.
Local Disruption and Diversions
Rigstock Road and parts of London Road have been cordoned off, and bus routes in the area are being diverted. Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to avoid the area while emergency services manage the scene.
A spokesperson for Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that a route 250 or 198 bus may be involved, though this has yet to be officially verified.
