A 31-year-old man from Brighton has been sentenced to seven years in prison for the sexual abuse of three girls across several years, with offences dating back to when he was just 10 years old.
James Quinto, of Kingswood Street, Brighton, committed the abuse between the early 2000s and 2010, targeting victims who were aged between seven and 18 at the time.
The case came to light in 2021, when one of the victims bravely contacted police after discovering that two other women she knew had also come forward with similar allegations, including repeated child rape.
Convictions and Sentencing
Following a thorough investigation, Quinto was arrested and charged with multiple historic child sexual offences. At Lewes Crown Court, he was convicted on 25 March of the following:
- Six counts of penetrative sexual activity with a girl
- Two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching
- One count of assault by penetration
- One count of sexual assault
He was found not guilty of rape and two additional counts of assault by touching.
On Tuesday, 17 June 2025, he was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Detective Constable Hannah Elmer, from Sussex Police, praised the survivors, stating:
“James Quinto’s victims have grown up with the trauma of his crimes, each having to come to terms with their experiences in their own way.“They have shown incredible strength and determination to report him and support this investigation. Thanks to their courage, he has finally faced justice.”
