Fire Crews Tackle Kitchen Blaze in Faversham – No Injuries Reported

Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire on St Paul’s Avenue in Faversham this morning, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

The incident was reported at 10:52am on Sunday, with Kent Fire and Rescue Service dispatching two fire engines to the scene. Crews used high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and positive pressure ventilation fans to clear smoke from the property.


Cause of Fire

A spokesperson confirmed that the fire is believed to have started after items were accidentally left on a hob and ignited. No injuries have been reported.


Safety Reminder

Kent Fire and Rescue Service issued the following advice following the incident:

“To reduce the risk of kitchen fires, always keep oven gloves, tea towels and other flammable items at least 50cm away from the hob.
If a fire breaks out, get out, stay out and call 999.”
