Man Dies After Collision in Sittingbourne Town Centre

Detectives have launched an investigation following the tragic death of a man in Sittingbourne town centre on Saturday night.

Kent Police were called shortly after 9.30pm on 2 August 2025, to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on St Michael’s Road, near the junction with Dover Street.

It is understood that the man, aged in his 30s, had fallen from a wall into the road before being struck by the vehicle.

Emergency services, including paramedics, attended the scene but despite their efforts, the man was sadly pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

A full investigation is now underway to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident.

CCTV and Dashcam Appeal

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around St Michael’s Road and Dover Street between 9.00pm and 10.00pm to come forward.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

“We are working to establish the full facts surrounding this tragic incident and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has footage or information that may assist our enquiries.”
