Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of an 88-year-old man was discovered at a property in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police said officers were called at 12.57pm on Saturday 9 August 2025 after the ambulance service raised concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Edgehill Road, in the Winton area.
When emergency services arrived, the man – a local resident – was found dead inside the property.
A police cordon remains in place as detectives continue their investigation.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being kept updated by specialist officers.
Following enquiries, a 60-year-old woman from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She is believed to have been known to the victim and remains in police custody.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said:
