Teen Shot on London Road

A 16-year-old boy remains in critical condition after being shot on London Road, Sheffield, on Monday evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at 5.15pm. The schoolboy was quickly taken to hospital, where he is fighting for his life.

Two Arrested in Connection

Police Scotland arrested a 26-year-old man in Aberdeen on Saturday, charging him with attempted murder.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old woman was also detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Authorities raided the CitiHouse guesthouse in Sheffield around 8pm as part of the ongoing investigation.

A large police cordon sealed off Great Western Road, with officers combing the area for evidence.

Investigation and Community Appeal

Earlier in the week, two boys aged 15 and 16 were arrested over conspiracy to commit murder but have since been released on bail.

A 40-year-old man, initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, is also out on police bail awaiting further inquiry.

Both the 26-year-old man and the 23-year-old woman remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight of South Yorkshire Police appealed for witnesses, saying:

“This incident understandably caused a lot of concern and heartache in the local communities, and our thoughts remain with the child’s family. He is 16 years of age and should have been looking forward to his future, but now, his life has been put on pause as he remains in a critical condition following this horrific act of violence. I continue to urge anyone who has information that they think may be relevant to our investigation to please get in touch if you haven’t already done so.”

Ongoing Police Action

Forensics teams remain at the scene, meticulously searching for clues on the streets of Sheffield.

Police are working quickly but are still urging anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.
