Telford Community First Responder (CFR) Becky has embarked on a remarkable challenge this February, braving the cold waters each day to raise funds for the Telford Community First Responders Scheme.
With her original fundraising target of £500 already surpassed, Becky is now aiming to reach an impressive total of £1000 for the scheme, demonstrating her dedication to supporting her community.
Community First Responders play a crucial role in assisting West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) crews by providing urgent medical aid to critically ill patients, often in time-sensitive situations. However, CFR Schemes operate solely on donations from the community, making initiatives like Becky’s vital for their continued operation.
Reflecting on her challenge, Becky expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received: “It feels amazing to have surpassed my original fundraising goal, and all the support I’ve received has been incredibly motivating.”
Despite facing water temperatures below 10°C, ranging from 4.5°C to 7.5°C, Becky remains undeterred in her mission. She credits the additional goal of raising £500 more for the scheme as the driving force behind her determination as she nears the end of the challenge.
Becky extended her heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has contributed to her fundraising efforts thus far, emphasizing the significance of their support.
