A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident at Barnes train station in south London.
The stabbing occurred on September 26, shortly after 7 am, at the station located on Station Road. Officers from British Transport Police and London Ambulance Service crews were dispatched to the scene, where they found a man who had sustained stab wounds.
The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries initially assessed as life-threatening. Fortunately, his condition improved, and he has since been discharged from medical care.
The teenage suspect, who is from Clacton-on-Sea and cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on October 5.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “A teenager has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing at Barnes last week. Following his arrest this morning, the 16-year-old boy from Clacton-on-Sea has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather further evidence related to the incident.
