Detectives have released an electronic facial identification technique (e-fit) image of a man in connection with the rape of a woman in Manchester city centre last year
Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident that was reported to the police in June 2024. The incident is believed to have occurred between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, on Deansgate Road in the city centre.

Detective Constable Rowan, who is leading the investigation, stated: “We are now able to ask for the help of the public to try and identify the person involved in this incident. After obtaining witness statements and descriptions, we have managed to produce an e-fit that should hopefully help in that process.”
Despite the time that has passed since the incident, authorities are actively pursuing leads. No arrests have been made at this stage, but the investigation remains ongoing.
Since we were informed of the incident recently, we have ensured the relevant support has been provided to the woman whilst ensuring we can move swiftly to see if we can identify the person responsible,” DC Rowan added.
The police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Individuals can contact the police directly by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2435 of 27/06/2024. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
DC Rowan emphasized the department’s commitment to tackling serious sexual offences, stating that inquiries are continuing despite the time that has elapsed since the incident.
