Two men have been charged after a terrifying suitcase robbery at Heathrow Airport left a woman pepper-sprayed and dozens injured. Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, face robbery and assault charges following the shocking attack outside Terminal 3’s multi-storey car park on Sunday.

The pepper spray blast didn’t just hit the victim—it sickened 21 people, including a toddler, sparking chaos and panic across London’s busiest airport.

Multiple Arrests as Police Crack Down

Richards and Clarke-Butcher are due in court today at Uxbridge Magistrates’. Police also briefly detained a 23-year-old woman and a 57-year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, but later released them pending further inquiries. A 31-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of affray.

Officials initially thought it was a turf war between known groups. But CCTV footage and witness reports reveal a tangled, darker plot behind the brazen daylight attack.

Airport Chaos: Flights Grounded, Transport Paralyzed

The fallout was chaos on an epic scale. Heathrow’s Underground and Elizabeth Lines ground to a halt. Bus drivers were trapped inside terminals, while cars piled up as the short-stay car park entrance was blocked.

  • Flight delays and cancellations spread across terminals.
  • Public transport services at a standstill.
  • Stranded commuters stuck for hours in gridlocked traffic.

Armed police swooped for searches and arrests amid growing frustration. One furious passenger blasted, “Absolute chaos at Heathrow this morning – seven hours wasted and trip cancelled after I missed my flight.”

Staff Step In to Help Stranded Travellers

Airport workers gave out bottled water to passengers marooned outside Terminal 3. Families faced exhausting waits for shuttle buses to long-term car parks after missing flights.

With investigations ongoing, Heathrow scrambles to restore order. But the scars of Sunday’s brazen robbery and fallout will linger long in the memories of those caught up in the nightmare.
