A major fire broke out in a residential block on Copley Close in Hanwell this evening, prompting a large-scale response from emergency services.
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were dispatched to the scene after London Fire Brigade received more than ten emergency calls reporting the blaze at around 6:15pm.
The fire affected a split-level flat spanning the third and fourth floors of the five-storey block. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries at this stage.

Firefighters from Ealing, Southall, Wembley, and surrounding stations worked swiftly to tackle the flames and were able to bring the fire under control by 7:42pm.
Emergency crews remain at the scene and are expected to stay into the evening to dampen down hotspots and ensure the area is safe. As a result, traffic disruptions are expected in and around Copley Close.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team.
Residents in the area are advised to avoid the location if possible and to check for updates on local traffic and transport channels.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
