Police have confirmed that a man in his 40s has died after suffering a head injury in Walthamstow.

At 1.07pm on Friday, officers were called to Summit Road, E17, following reports that a man had been injured. The London Ambulance Service attended and treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital. Despite their efforts, he was later pronounced dead.

The man’s family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.

At this stage, police say the death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained. Detectives are continuing enquiries to establish how the man sustained his injuries.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:

“At this time his death is being treated as unexpected and officers continue to follow all lines of enquiries to understand the circumstances of his injuries.”
