A 34-year-old woman has been charged with murder following the discovery of a man’s body at a home in Lewisham. The victim, identified as 72-year-old Christopher Brown, was found at a property on Polsted Road on August 15, prompting a murder investigation by police.

Habiba Naveed, of Polsted Road, was arrested the same day on suspicion of murder and subsequently charged on August 16. She appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on August 17.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of Mr. Brown’s death was blunt force trauma. Police confirmed that the suspect and the victim were known to each other, and they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

A crime scene remains in place as investigations continue. Authorities are urging anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to contact them by calling 101 or posting on X @MetCC, quoting reference 736/15AUG.
