Person Hit by Train at Chancery Lane Station — Emergency Services on Scene


Emergency services have rushed to Chancery Lane Underground Station this evening following reports that a person has been struck by a train on the eastbound Central Line platform.

The incident occurred at around 9:32pm. A full emergency response was mobilised, with British Transport Police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade crews all in attendance.

A spokesperson for London Underground confirmed that the station has been partially evacuated, and Platform 2 remains closed as rescue operations continue.

Trains are currently not stopping at Chancery Lane, and severe delays are being reported on parts of the Central Line. Passengers are being advised to seek alternative routes while emergency teams deal with the situation.

Statement from Transport for London (TfL)

A TfL spokesperson said:

“We’re working with the emergency services following a person under a train at Chancery Lane. Our thoughts are with all those affected. Services are currently suspended eastbound between Marble Arch and Liverpool Street. Please check before you travel.”

British Transport Police Comment

While the condition of the person involved has not yet been officially confirmed, British Transport Police (BTP) have stated:

“Officers were called to Chancery Lane Underground Station shortly after 9:30pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Emergency responders remain on scene. Enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances of the incident.”
