Emergency services have rushed to Wood Green Underground Station this afternoon after a person was struck by a westbound train. The incident, reported at approximately 2:30pm on Monday 9th June 2025, has caused significant disruption on the Piccadilly line, with multiple emergency units in attendance.
A person has been confirmed to be under a train on the westbound track. Fire, ambulance, and London Underground response teams have all been mobilised.
Large Emergency Response at Scene
At least three fire crews were scrambled within seconds of the incident. A Fire rescue units from the London Fire Brigade, paramedics, and British Transport Police are all on site, and a full emergency protocol has been enacted.
The condition of the person under the train is not yet confirmed. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said they are working closely with fire crews to extract the individual and assess injuries.
Severe Tube Delays Expected
Transport for London has advised passengers to avoid the Piccadilly line between Arnos Grove and King’s Cross, with delays expected throughout the afternoon. Replacement bus services and station staff are on hand to assist stranded commuters.

British Transport Police have cordoned off parts of the station, and a formal investigation is underway to determine the circumstances. They have not yet confirmed whether the incident is being treated as accidental or deliberate.
