A social care worker faces serious charges after allegedly having sex with a teenage boy under her supervision. Charlie Gladman, 29, is accused of eight counts of sexual activity with a boy she supposedly thought was under 18.
Abuse of Trust Allegations Rock Isle of Wight Community
The Croydon magistrates’ court heard the shocking case on Friday, charging Gladman with “adult abusing a position of trust.” At the time of the alleged offences, the Isle of Wight woman worked as a social care assistant and a young person’s ambassador for children.
Gladman is alleged to have had sex with the boy on two separate occasions — June 15, 2023, and again on June 16, 2025. The second alleged encounter reportedly took place at a three-star London hotel.
Emotional Court Appearance as Gladman Denies All Charges
When asked to enter a plea, Gladman declared herself “not guilty” to all eight charges. The court confirmed all eight counts are related to the same offence.
The hearing ended with Gladman breaking down in tears in the custody dock. She revealed her mother had recently passed away and that she is planning a funeral and post-mortem in the coming weeks.
Bail Set Ahead of Crown Court Trial
Gladman was granted conditional bail, with strict rules including no contact with her alleged victim. She is due to appear at the Inner London Crown Court on December 12 for trial.
