A 17-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being shot on Penhurst Road, near White Hart Lane, in Tottenham this afternoon, prompting a major police investigation and road closures in the area.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4:00pm, following reports of a suspected shooting in North London’s N17 area. London Ambulance Service crews treated the teenager at the scene before transporting him to hospital. His current condition remains unknown.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident in a statement:
“Officers were called to a suspected shooting in Penshurst Road, N17 at 16:00hrs on Tuesday, 29 April. A 17-year-old boy was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound and was later taken to hospital. No arrests have been made. The road remains closed while initial enquiries take place.”

Penshurst Road has been closed in both directions between Pretoria Road and High Road, with multiple police units and forensics teams on site. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
This shooting comes just hours after another firearms incident elsewhere in London, marking a troubling day for gun violence across the capital.
Residents reported hearing loud bangs and seeing a large emergency response swarm the typically quiet residential street. Authorities are now urging anyone with information, dashcam, or CCTV footage to come forward.
