After 26 years, there has been a significant development in the case of baby “Callum”, who was tragically discovered in a woodland area in Warrington back in 1998. Joanne Sharkey, 54, has been charged with murder in connection with the infant’s death.

The arrest comes after a lengthy investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death. In July 2023, police arrested a man and a woman from Liverpool in relation to the incident. Both individuals were subsequently released on bail pending further inquiries.

However, the case took a new turn on Monday when Joanne Sharkey was rearrested and formally charged with murder. She has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
