Woman in Crisis at West India Quay Prompts Major Emergency Response

Emergency services were called late on Thursday night to a critical incident involving a woman in crisis seen on the West India Quay footbridge, reportedly positioned directly above the Limehouse Link Tunnel eastbound.

Metropolitan Police units responded swiftly following the alert. The woman was first spotted by members of the public on the footbridge overlooking both carriageways of the Limehouse Link Tunnel — a vital East London route connecting The Highway to Canary Wharf.

A cordon has been  established in the area as police negotiated with the individual in distress. The situation developed just before midnight, with multiple units dispatched to the scene and traffic severely effected.

As of this moment, it is unclear whether tunnel access has been suspended or traffic diverted, though delays in the surrounding Docklands area were reported by local drivers.
