Cause: Faulty Dishwasher Ignites Overnight

Safety Reminder from Kent Fire and Rescue

In the wake of the incident, KFRS issued this safety reminder:

Please only run dishwashers, washing machines, and other appliances when you’re at home and awake. This allows you to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Appliance Fire Safety Tips:

  • Run dishwashers and washing machines only while awake and at home.
  • Register appliances online to be informed of recalls.
