Firefighters were called to a garage fire in Wrotham Green, near Sevenoaks, on Tuesday afternoon (27 May), with crews working for over two hours to bring the blaze under control.

At 12:19pm, Kent Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a garage alight on Seven Mile Lane. Two fire engines were quickly dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames using a main hose jet and deployed a positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fan to clear smoke from the area.

The fire was fully extinguished by 2:27pm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

At this stage, the cause of the fire remains unknown and an investigation may be carried out to determine what sparked the blaze.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue said:

“Crews acted swiftly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading. We’re grateful to the public for staying clear of the area while we worked.”
