Three adults and a child have been hospitalised after a house fire broke out on Marsala Road in Lewisham during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

 Fire Breaks Out Just Before 1:45am

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it was called at 1:44am on Tuesday, 21 May, to reports of a house fire on Marsala Road.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Lewisham, Greenwich, Lee Green, and surrounding stations responded to the emergency.

A section of the building’s ground floor was damaged in the blaze.

 Four Taken to Hospital

Three adults and one child were rescued from the house and treated on the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews. They were then taken to hospital for further treatment.

The severity of their conditions has not yet been confirmed, but all were conscious at the time of transfer.

Quick Firefighting Response

Fire crews managed to bring the fire under control by 2:43am, just under an hour after arriving on the scene.

 Investigation Ongoing

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the London Fire Brigade’s fire investigation team.

Residents in the area are urged to check smoke alarms and ensure emergency escape plans are in place.
