Four fire engines and approximately 25 firefighters responded to a significant house fire on Cromwell Street in Hounslow, after multiple emergency calls reported a blaze engulfing the upper floor of a detached property.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received the first of 10 emergency calls at 11:56 AM, prompting a rapid deployment of fire crews from Hillingdon, Fulham, Heathrow, and Twickenham stations. Firefighters brought the fire under control by 1:08 PM.

Extent of Damage and Response

  • Damage: Most of the first floor and approximately half of the roof were damaged by fire.
  • Evacuation: Six people evacuated the building before crews arrived.
  • Medical: Four individuals were assessed at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

“Our crews worked quickly to contain the fire and ensure the safety of those involved,” a London Fire Brigade spokesperson said.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire investigators will examine the scene for potential electrical faults, accidental ignition sources, or any suspicious circumstances.

This incident serves as a timely reminder of the importance of working smoke alarms and having a clear escape plan in residential properties.
