
Detectives in Lewisham are actively investigating an attempted murder case after a woman was stabbed on Lewisham Way. The incident occurred on Friday, May 24, around 9am
Officers promptly responded to reports of the stabbing and were joined by colleagues from the London Ambulance Service.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, sustained stab injuries but is fortunately in stable condition and her injuries are not life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant Ian Barnard, part of the South East Safeguarding team, provided an update on the investigation. They have made significant progress and are now seeking the whereabouts of Mateo Valencia Cano, a 24-year-old individual born on February 3, 2000, residing in South Norwood (SE25). Cano is considered dangerous, and authorities advise against approaching him directly. If you spot him, please call 999 immediately. Alternatively, if you have any information about his location, contact the police via 101.
One person has been arrested in connection with the incident, but they have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
