An Audi S1 driver landed themselves in serious trouble after attempting a reckless high-speed overtake—on a marked police van—along the M6 motorway. What followed could easily qualify as an audition for the “World’s Worst Driver.”

The driver’s bold manoeuvre quickly unravelled when officers pulled the vehicle over, only to discover a staggering list of offences.

Not only was the driver unlicensed and uninsured, but a roadside drug wipe also returned positive for cocaine.

“A Trifecta of Bad Decisions”

A spokesperson for the police force involved described the incident as “a textbook case of what not to do behind the wheel.”

“No licence, no insurance, under the influence—and overtaking a marked police van at speed? This one really ticked all the boxes,” they added.

Immediate Arrest and Vehicle Seizure

The driver was arrested at the scene and taken into custody for questioning. The Audi S1 was seized, likely bringing an abrupt end to what the motorist may have thought was a joyride.

Social Media Reacts

The incident has since made waves online, with one user commenting: “This is the definition of asking to get caught.” Another added: “You’d think if you’re driving illegally, you’d at least avoid overtaking police vans!”

Police Message to Motorists

Police have once again urged all drivers to ensure they are properly licensed, insured, and fit to drive before getting behind the wheel.

“We’re out there 24/7, and with tools like ANPR and drug wipes, it’s only a matter of time before drivers like this are caught,” the spokesperson said.

The driver is expected to face multiple charges, including driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and driving under the influence of drugs, when they appear in court.
