Metropolitan Police detectives have charged two men with attempted murder following a firearms incident in Croydon that left a man injured last month.

Charges and Arrests

  • Anthony Dasousa, 30, of Station Approach, Coulsdon, was arrested on Tuesday, 3 June and charged the following day with:

    • Attempted murder

    • Possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life

  • Tevin Nzita, 29, of Warbank Crescent, Croydon, was arrested on Wednesday, 4 June and charged the next day with the same offences.

 Incident Details

The charges relate to a shooting on Wednesday, 21 May, when officers were called to Walsh Crescent, New Addington, at 7:26pm following multiple reports of gunfire.

A man in his 30s was found suffering gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital. His injuries were confirmed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

Court Appearances and Custody

Both men were remanded in custody.

  • Dasousa appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 4 June

  • Nzita appeared at the same court on Thursday, 5 June

The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation.
