A cyclist in his 20s has tragically died following a collision with a lorry on Staines Road in Feltham, west London. The incident occurred shortly after 9:35 am today (September 11).
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the collision. Despite the efforts of paramedics and first responders, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Staines Road has been closed in both directions between Hounslow Road and Barrack Road while authorities manage the aftermath and begin investigations into the incident.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 09:37hrs on Wednesday, 11 September to reports of a collision involving a lorry and cyclist on Staines Road in Feltham. Emergency services attended and provided first aid. Despite their efforts, the cyclist, who is believed to be aged in his 20s, died at the scene.”
London Ambulance Service also provided a statement, saying: “We were called at 9.34 am this morning (11 September) to reports of a road traffic collision in Staines Road, Feltham. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. Sadly, despite the efforts of our crews, a person died at the scene.
The road closures remain in place while authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
