In a tragic incident on Thursday, a dog believed to be an American Bully XL attacked two women inside a residence on Baker Crescent, Baddeley Green, Stoke-on-Trent. Authorities were alerted to the situation around 11:40am, leading to a swift response from Staffordshire Police.

The victims received on-site medical attention before being transported to the hospital. The severity of their injuries remains undisclosed at this time. The assailant, identified as an American Bully XL, was successfully contained by law enforcement at the scene. Following consultation with the dog’s owners, the decision was made to euthanise the animal.

This incident follows Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s recent announcement regarding a ban on Bully XL dogs. The ban proposal emerged in response to a series of incidents, including a fatal attack on Ian Price in Stonnall near Walsall last month, involving two Bully XLs.

Staffordshire Police stated that investigations into Thursday’s attack are ongoing. The case has reignited debates surrounding the ownership and regulation of certain dog breeds.
