Emergency services rushed to a housing estate in South Ockendon on Sunday afternoon following reports of a “serious incident.” Essex Police confirmed they are on the scene alongside other emergency services.

Road Closures and Access Restrictions

The incident occurred on Windstar Drive, near Ockendon railway station and a major distribution centre for retailer Next. Police have closed roads in the vicinity while they manage what they have described as a “challenging incident.

A spokesperson for Essex Police stated:
“The road is closed whilst this challenging incident continues to be dealt with. Access in the area is likely to be restricted well into this evening. We appreciate the public’s patience during this time.”
