Police have officially named Leon Anderson, 39, as the victim of a fatal stabbing that took place in his home in Maple Close, Mitcham, on Monday, April 28.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.30pm. Despite efforts to save him, Leon was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

Murder Charge Brought
Kemuel Gambicky-Forbes, 24, of Deer Park Gardens, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in connection with Leon’s death.
Gambicky-Forbes reportedly handed himself in at a South London police station the day after the incident, where he was immediately arrested.

He is due to appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, May 1.
Police Investigation
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said:
“The victim’s family is being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.”
Authorities have confirmed that patrols have been stepped up in the Mitcham area to provide reassurance to residents.

The murder has sent shockwaves through the quiet community of Maple Close, where neighbours described Leon Anderson as a “friendly and kind-hearted” man.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area on Monday evening to come forward by calling 101, quoting reference CAD 6812/28APR.
