A police car responding to an emergency call was involved in a collision with a taxi in central London this morning, leaving two people injured.

The crash happened at around 10:22am on Horseferry Road in Westminster. The driver of the taxi, a 50-year-old man, and one of the police officers were treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service for injuries described as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

The London Fire Brigade also attended as a precaution due to an oil leak from one of the vehicles.

Road closures were put in place while emergency services worked to clear the scene, causing some disruption to local traffic.

Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who saw the collision or has relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police on 101 quoting 2566/15Aug.
