Residents of Harlesden have described the terrifying events of Saturday night (December 14) as “pandemonium” and “scary” after a woman was fatally shot and two men injured in a triple shooting on Gifford Road, NW10.
Tragic Incident
The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene around 9:15 PM after reports of gunfire. A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene, while two men in their 30s were rushed to the hospital. One remains in critical condition, and the other is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Eyewitness Accounts
Residents have shared chilling details of the moment the gunman opened fire:
- A local resident on Creukhorne Road said: “I heard five gunshots in a row. It was terrifying.”
- Another, who was inside the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church on Gifford Road, recounted: “Someone came in and said there had been a shooting. I looked outside, and it was pandemonium.”
Community in Shock
Witnesses reported people exiting the church, where a wake was being held, only to find the aftermath of the attack. One resident said: “People came out of the church and saw the bodies on the ground. I heard crying and screaming—it was heartbreaking.”
Another neighbour described how her daughter narrowly avoided the violence: “My daughter came home just 10 minutes before it happened. My son thought there were fireworks, then we realized it was gunfire. It’s crazy and sad. It doesn’t feel safe here anymore.”
Police Response
The area remains cordoned off as forensic teams investigate the scene. Superintendent Tony Josephs of the North West Command Unit addressed the community’s concerns:
“This is a truly shocking incident, and I understand the concern it will cause locally and across London. A team of experienced detectives is working tirelessly to piece together what happened and identify those responsible for this heinous act.”
