A murder investigation has been launched following the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old boy in New Moston, north Manchester.

Emergency services were called to Nevin Road shortly before 5pm on Sunday (8 June) after receiving reports of a serious assault. Paramedics and an air ambulance attended, but despite their efforts, the boy tragically died from his injuries in hospital.

Arrests Made Within Hours

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) acted swiftly, arresting four individuals in connection with the incident:

  • A 37-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

  • Two teenage boys, aged 14 and 16, arrested on suspicion of murder.

  • A 14-year-old girl, also held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All four suspects remain in custody as detectives continue their investigation.

Appeal for Witnesses

Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone who may have been in the Nevin Road area at around 5pm on Sunday.

A spokesperson for GMP said:

“This was a brutal and tragic loss of a young life. We are appealing to the community – if you saw anything or have relevant CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage, please contact us immediately.”
