A teenager has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed on a busy street in Alperton, North West London, on Tuesday evening (April 22).

Emergency services were called to Bridgewater Road at around 5.05pm following reports of a stabbing. Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, where they found an 18-year-old male suffering from stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries have since been confirmed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

At this stage, no arrests have been made, and a police investigation remains ongoing.

In a statement, the Met Police said:

“At around 5.05pm on Tuesday, 22 April, police were called to a stabbing on Bridgewater Road, Brent.
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and treated an 18-year-old man for stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing. The investigation is ongoing.”

The incident prompted the temporary closure of Bridgewater Road in both directions between Manor Farm Road and Whitton Avenue, affecting traffic and leading to the diversion of bus routes 245 and 487 throughout the evening.

Residents in the area reported seeing a large police presence and a cordon in place as officers carried out their enquiries.

The stabbing comes amid ongoing concerns about knife crime in the capital, with local residents calling for increased police visibility and preventative measures to keep young people safe.
